Do you really need all those printers? Will one “Multi-Function Centre” replace printers, copiers, fax machines and scanners. The cost of an MFC is around half of the cost of equivalent quality separate units.

However, simple replacement may not be the best option: an MFC is powered on all the time (to support fax reception), whereas the other devices can be turned off individually when not needed. Again, an in-depth assessment of usage is required.

Furthermore, will one high-performance, high-reliability printer do the job of the printer on every desk - with a consequent saving in consumables, maintenance, etc. A side-benefit of a single, high-performance office printer is that it makes people think twice before printing - they will have to walk to the printer, not just lean over to it.
